Days of Our Lives Recasts Sloan: Wait… What?!?

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. It’s only for a hot minute. Days of Our Lives has indeed recast Jessica Serfaty as Sloan… but only temporarily, Soap Opera Digest reports. Like, three episodes, that temporarily. (They’ll roll out the week of March 4.)
Stepping in for Serfaty, who has played the Salem pot-stirrer since 2022, is Natasha Hall, whose credits include The Kominsky Method, The Rookie, SEAL Team, S.W.A.T., Mom and Entourage. No reason for the sudden switcheroo was revealed.

Any way you slice it, though, Hall is gonna be diving into the deep end, given how heavily involved in story Sloan is at the moment. Which is surprising to those of us who sort of assumed, when first the character was introduced, that she’d only be sticking around Salem for a few weeks.
But thankfully, the show saw what they have in Serfaty and began giving her more and more story. Ok, sure, we probably could have done without the storyline which saw Sloan’s troublemaking (and generally creepy) brother, Colin, coming to Salem. But along the way — and before finding love, or something like it, with Eric — she got to have a steamy affair with Alex, tried punishing Chanel and Paulina for her late dad’s death, and exchanged witty barbs with Leo.
Of course, she’s now caught up in the most soapy of all possible situations, what with pretending that the baby she and Eric are raising is theirs (as opposed to his with true love Nicole). Executive producer Ken Corday told TVInsider last month that one of 2024’s big stories would involve the baby switch. “Sloan, who is unraveling from keeping the secret that Jude is really Nicole and Eric’s baby, demands he be returned to Nicole,” previewed the exec. “When and if Nicole and Eric learn the truth will be something to tune in for!”
Given the hard work Serfaty has done in creating the character and seeing her through this tumultuous time, we’re glad that this recast is only temporary, meaning she should be front-and-center as the drama unfolds!
