This week, four little words sent a chill right down my spine while watching The Bold and the Beautiful. Because when Hope declared, “This time, it’s war!” with regards to Steffy’s latest move, I literally shouted three words back at my television screen: “Bring. It. On!” We’ve got a lot to discuss, so let’s dive right in.

Family Feud

From the moment Brooke Logan laid eyes on Ridge Forrester as his disapproving mom shot death rays in the direction of the woman she’d dub the “slut from the Valley,” the two families were set on a collision course. Over the decades which followed, fans, too, found themselves divided. Pay even the shortest of visits to our message boards, or jump into a Bold & Beautiful centric conversation on Twitter (never X) and you’ll quickly discover that most viewers fall into either the Logan or Forrester camp, with few opting to stake claims in both.

And that, friends, is why I was so excited by Hope’s declaration of war, which so beautifully set the stage for the type of story this show once did so well, but hasn’t told in years: a good ol’ fashion showdown. (Yes, yes, I know they did the Ridge/Eric challenge last year, but frankly, that was less about the battle than it was Eric’s death-and-resurrection).

A (Fashion) House Divided

It’s been far too long since Bold & Beautiful has had a second fashion house to compete against Forrester. Now’s the time to have Hope launch a new company… the name of which my officemates and I have been discussing. Hope Couture? Logan Unlimited? Or my personal fave, Vendetta by Hope Logan.

Think about the amazing storylines that could spring out of this as the two sides of Ridge’s family are divided. How would he react to Brooke working for her daughter, perhaps even inventing a whole new fabric (the way she did with the BeLieF formula)? Might Thomas finally realize that nobody fuels his fire the way Hope does and, to the shock of his family, join the Vendetta crew?

The possibilities are endless. And honestly, it’s exactly what the canvas needs right now. Bring on the fashion! Bring on the drama! Bring on the fashion wars!

Are You My Father?

As much as I enjoyed the fun scenes between Katie, Bill and Poppy, they led to the borderline infuriating ones in which the Logan sisters asked if Katie still had feelings for her ex. Not once did they bother to say, “I know you’re with Carter now and that seems to be going well, but… “

And of course, this led to Donna and Brooke reminding Katie that she had the one thing Poppy couldn’t give Bill — a child — even as he was rushing out to get a paternity test. Then we had Li once again breaking out her tried-and-true “my sister is a gold-digging ho” routine. I suspect her head will explode and she will consider herself vindicated in her beliefs when Bill finds out he’s Luna’s dad.

Except… um… wouldn’t that prove the exact opposite? Because if Poppy was really after Bill’s money, wouldn’t she have told him months ago that he was Luna’s dad? Also, if Poppy has a history of attaching herself to rich men, as Li insists, why didn’t she marry one of them?

Oh, right, because this show bounces from plot point to plot point with little to no concern as to how much sense each one makes.

Point, Counterpoint

Finn gets big points for rushing home and immediately telling Steffy that he wound up being at the wedding. Deacon, on the other hand, loses points for posting that wedding photo on social media. Surely he would have known exactly how much trouble that would cause for his new son-in-law. And would it really be good business for him to publicize the fact that he’d married his psycho waitress/girlfriend?

Then again, Sheila’s past has apparently been scrubbed from Google. How else to explain the headline on the story that caught Steffy’s attention? “Exclusive: Beverly Hills Pizza Man ties the knot! Small ceremony at Il Giardino. Bride recently survived being kidnapped.”

I mean, clearly the reporter in question threw that story up in a hurry, what with it going live in less time than it took Finn to deliver the (cold) pizza. But surely they could have come up with something catchier. How about “The Non-Corpse Bride”?

Random Thoughts

• As we ponder every week at this time… wonder what Paris is up to?

• Regular readers, y’all have to know I was thrilled that several days this week, we actually had more than one story playing out. Heck, there were even times when we didn’t cut from characters talking to other character rehashing exactly what the first pair had been discussing!

• Steffy said she didn’t understand how Finn kept “putting himself in these situations.” Yet, she knew he’d ordered pizza from Il Giardino. Sure, they thought Sheila would be tying the knot on a beach, but why even risk a run-in? The beach house is in Malibu, and establishing shots have indicated that Il Giardino is in the heart of Beverly Hills. Surely there’s someplace in between those two locations from which to order a pizza… and have it delivered!

• I was so happy to hear Deacon offer Tom a job. Do I have faith that they will integrate this have-not into the canvas and give him good storyline? Not really. But if you know one thing about me by now, it’s probably that I have big dreams for the soap!

• Liam dashed out of Steffy and Finn’s place saying he was late for a meeting… but then he wound up at Forrester, hanging out with Hope.

• If it turns out that Luna really is Bill’s daughter, that’s gonna make it real awkward for the soap to inevitably give Will a case of SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome).
