It would appear that in the wake of Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) death, Lois couldn’t help herself and needed to make sure she told Ned how she feels about him — and their past.

Over the years, they’ve become the best of friends on the heels of him shattering her heart during their marriage. Today, they’re co-parents to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and appreciate one another on a very different level after all the trials they’ve been through both together and separately.

But the fans are wondering whether their sentimental moment the other night in the Q kitchen was more than just clearing the air and making sure nothing is left unsaid.

Initially, their reunion was saccharine sweet, but as of late, Ned is at the mansion alone — a lot. Olivia even faced Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) being shot and nearly dying without Ned by her side.

The truth is, this is probably the closest we’ll ever get to a Ned and Lois reboot. That’s because this couple was once hitched in real life. They’re on-screen fairytale romance led to a similar path in their off-screen lives.

Likewise, their real-life marriage didn’t last much longer than the short lived Port Charles version did. Years later, Rena recounted on Maurice Benard’s — who plays Sonny Corinthos — podcast that they got caught up in the magic of Ned and Lois and later realized they weren’t really meant for one another.

So, while Ned and Lois really do love one another — and Rena and Wally likely do, too — they’re not in love, and they’re unlikely to head in that direction. Of course, we could be wrong.
