Credit where it’s due: Bold & Beautiful fan Matt Hanvey creates some of the funniest parody videos of the show you’ll ever see. But recently, he did more than make us laugh, he made us go, “Oooh, so that’s where this storyline is going.”
In a redubbed clip Hanvey posted on May 22, he had Brooke pointing out to Steffy that she might be fighting a losing battle demanding that Finn cut his Biological Mother™ out of his life. Sheila has done some horrific things, sure. But, Brooke pointed out, “Stephanie gave me a gun to kill myself and had me raped, and Ridge still stood by her.”
“Wait, wait, wait, that’s different,” Ridge insisted. “My mommy was special.”
That, Stephanie was. However, Hanvey made a great point. When you consider all of the misdeeds that characters on Bold & Beautiful have committed and forgotten, is it really so unthinkable that Sheila could get a clean slate? Ridge raped Brooke, and she still considers him her destiny. Bill took advantage of Steffy in a moment of weakness, and he and Liam still have regular father/son bonding sessions. Quinn kidnapped an amnesiac Liam and tried to kill Deacon, yet she still became Mrs. Eric Forrester. Deacon took Bridget’s virginity after dialing her family so they could listen in on speakerphone.
Nonetheless, they’ve all managed to put their sins in rearview and move forward tra la la as if nothing ever happened. And that, Hanvey has us thinking, is exactly what’s going to ultimately happen with Sheila. Steffy will find herself with no choice but to throw up her hands, forgive Sheila (even if only halfheartedly) and let Finn enroll in those Mommy & Me classes he’s been dying to try out.
