General Hospital Comings & Goings: Giovanni Mazza on Contract
GH casting news promises Giovanni Mazza is officially on contract as young Italian violinist, Giovanni Palmieri. So, that means he’s staying on the canvas and will get a storyline soon.
So far, what we know about “Gio” is that he’s Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s cousin and an extremely talented violinist.
He played at the “ChaLynn” wedding and amazed everyone. It’s highly likely that he will be a new love interest for Trina Robinson. With Spencer Cassadine presumed dead and his portrayer, Nicholas Chavez, filming other projects, Trina will need romance.
And that might be Giovanni. Of course, Spencer could very well return to General Hospital one day. If so, it will make for a lot of drama and angst if Trina falls for Gio right as Spencer returns from the dead. Then, she may end up torn between the two of them. Indeed, his arrival will cause drama.
GH Casting Changes: Mac Scorpio Home at Last!
General Hospital casting updates also confirm Mac Scorpio (John J. York) will be back on the scene soon. John has been on a medical leave of absence since October 2023. He’s been battling the disorders, Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Multiple Smoldering Myeloma.
After successful treatment and a stem cell transplant, the Mac actor is on the mend and back to filming General Hospital episodes. Now, the big question is if we’re going to see progress in his paternity storyline with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).
Indeed, Cody is Mac’s son, but because Cody lied about the original paternity test, Mac has no idea. Hopefully, once he returns from his police business, GH will get the ball rolling and let him know he has a son after all.

His other son, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) is the one who found him. Indeed, he’s distraught but he’s already struggling to stay sober and his dad’s death pushed him straight to a bottle.
