General Hospital Spoilers: Trina & Gio’s New Couple Potential – Fresh Love Interest After Spencer Devastation?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) may need to look elsewhere for love since it doesn’t look like Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) is coming back anytime soon.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez has confirmed he has no current plans to return to the role, so GH would have to recast if they wanted Spencer back on-screen.
Although Spencer could indeed resurface with a new face down the road, we should focus on a different new face for now – one that belongs to Giovanni “Gio” Cerullo (Giovanni Mazza).
Gio is Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) cousin, so look for him to make his debut during the wedding festivities.
That’ll give Gio an opportunity to meet Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and get Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) attention in the process.
Based on GH’s weekly preview video, it looks like Dex will plaster on a fake smile and quiz Gio – perhaps to size up the competition.
Dex may worry that Gio is going to ruin his chances of reuniting with Josslyn, which could certainly be a possibility.
However, there’s another lovely single lady who’s part of the younger set – one who’s looking for a way to move forward in the aftermath of all the Spencer devastation. Could Trina and Gio have potential as a new couple?
Of course, Trina is still in mourning and definitely won’t fall for Gio or anyone else overnight. It would have to be a slow-burn situation, but Gio could win Trina’s heart sooner or later.
If Gio ultimately strikes out with Josslyn and watches her reunite with Dex, that could open the door to him falling for Trina next.
Gio and Trina might get a new love story, which could pave the way for the possible Spencer recast we mentioned.
It makes sense to have Trina end up in love with someone else before Spencer’s comeback news turns her world upside down.
A Spencer recast could finally pop up once Trina’s crazy for Gio and make question who she truly belongs with.
Regardless, Gio and Trina will inevitably meet at some point, so we’ll bring you predictions about the connection they might form.
