General Hospital Spoilers: 5 Ways to Fix GH, How to Overhaul the Writing in Port Charles

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans are still buzzing about the news that Patrick Mulcahey is no longer part of the show’s head writing team. Multiple sources are reporting that Elizabeth Korte will now be GH’s sole head writer – at least for the time being.

It’s clear that the show needs to find its groove again, so we’ve got some ideas on how to make that happen.

Let’s talk about five ways to fix GH and overhaul the writing in Port Charles.

1) Stop Destroying Sonny

For starters, all the Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) destruction has to stop. It feels like TPTB have suddenly forgotten that Sonny is a popular character.

It’s time to get Sonny on the right med dosage so he can go back to normal and other characters can stop trashing him over his altered state.

Sonny is a huge part of the drama in PC, so fixing him and offering a better story direction could go a long way toward making the show better.

2) Make Characters Recognizable Again

Of course, that isn’t just a Sonny-related thing since characters have become unrecognizable all over the canvas.

It’s been strange to see some people in PC suddenly acting like they have no idea how the mob works and flip-flopping on certain issues.

In many cases, it feels like some Port Charles residents are changing their long-held beliefs and being dumbed down just for the sake of conflict.

If the show can get back to writing authentic characters, they can hopefully create some feuds that feel less contrived.

3) No More Abrupt Career Changes

The flood of career changes has become a problem, too. Having a ton of characters trade jobs out of the blue has no doubt contributed to PC feeling so out of sync lately.

There’s no sense of stability since everything’s been shifting in weird directions – like when Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) gave up her modeling job to randomly become a cook for the Quartermaine household.

The show needs to stop using career changes as a crutch when it comes to giving characters something to do. We have to see actual stories that make sense!

4) Put Pikeman to Rest

Wouldn’t it be nice if we never had to hear the name “Pikeman” ever again?

All this Pikeman stuff feels repetitive and has gone on far too long, so putting that to rest and focusing on other things needs to be a priority.

5) Romances Worth Rooting For

Finally, it’d be great to see the show concentrate on building more romances worth rooting for.

Many of the pairings in PC are lackluster or have been torn apart, so we’re hoping for some chemistry-filled relationships that we can really get behind moving forward.

General Hospital spoilers say some exciting changes are hopefully in the works, so we’ll bring you more storyline predictions and updates on any other writing team info.
