General Hospital spoilers tease that Heather Webber (Alley Mills) is slowly regaining her sanity after years of cobalt poisoning that likely impacted her behavior.
Heather had a hip replacement approximately twenty years ago, and it was defective. Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) seems to believe that Heather’s darker impulses, such as when she became the serial killer known as “The Hook”, were at least partially caused by the cobalt poisoning. And now that Heather has been given a replacement hip, she seems to be more grounded in reality.

As viewers know, Heather gave up her daughter Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) because she knew that she was in no position to be a good mother.
But when Heather and Esme finally reunited, Heather was fully in the throws of insanity. Even so, she tried to keep Esme from her own worst impulses.
But she failed and Esme apparently died in a confrontation with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). Neither Esme not Spencer’s bodies were found.
GH Spoilers – Esme Prince could be alive!
Right now, Heather is still in prison for all her crimes but Laura has been looking into having Heather’s sentence revisited now that the cobalt poisoning may have impacted her behavior.
It’s possible Heather could even be released. If Esme does return, it’s a sure bet that she will want her son back and will stop at nothing to take him back from adoptive parents Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom). Heather may be the only thing that stands in the way of Esme stealing her son.
General Hospital Spoilers – Esme Prince could hurt her own mother!
Heather would certainly try to reason with Esme. Esme has no source of income and she’s wanted for several very serious crimes. Living on the run would be no kind of life for her son, Heather’s grandson. But Esme may not listen to reason, especially coming from Heather.
She might even injure Heather or even worse if Heather stands in her way. This could be the first step in Heather redeeming herself if she can manage to stop Esme, but it could also cost her life!
