Proving once again that once someone’s mentioned on a soap, chances are we’ll soon be meeting them, Days of Our Lives announced on their official Instagram page today that Felicity will be making her first appearance in Salem next week! Viewers might remember that while speaking about the potential needs and challenges of their unborn child, Chanel’s spoken about Felicity a couple of times in recent weeks. She’s one of the Sweet Bits owner’s favorite regulars who one day wants to be a baker herself.

“I am going to hire her as soon as she’s old enough,” Chanel promised Johnny. Well, it looks like she may just about be old enough! Days of Our Lives announced that actress Kennedy Garcia will be playing Felicity — on her birthday no less!
“It’s a great day to welcome Kennedy to Salem,” they wrote, “plus it’s her birthday today! Wish her Happy Birthday and tune in to meet ‘Felicity’ on-air next week!”
With Chanel pregnant, we imagine she’s going to be needing more help around the bakery, so the timing couldn’t be better. The birthday wishes rolled in fast and furious, along with enthusiastic welcomes to the show. And Garcia herself chimed in, excited that the news was finally out there.
“Yay!” she wrote in the comments. “I can’t wait for you all to meet Felicity! So happy to be part of the Days of Our Lives family!”
The actress has had a handful of roles before Days of Our Lives, most recently being a short title Bamboozled. This, though, will be her first daytime role! Garcia, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome shortly after she was born, is no stranger to the spotlight. A public speaker, she’s also the first model with Down syndrome to work with American Girl.
We can’t wait to meet Felicity and are happy to welcome her to Salem and Garcia to the Days of Our Lives family!
