The Young and the Restless Friday, May 17 Recap: Victor Spits Brussels Sprouts at Jordan – Kyle’s Sneaky Nanny Move

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, May 17, reveals that Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) will fret to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about the secrets Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) might be keeping.

In addition to Victor’s disappearing acts, Cole will find it suspicious that Victor wasn’t concerned over Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) body not being found.

Although Nick will agree Victor keeps a lot of secrets on any given day, he’ll think Cole needs to let this go.

Cole will still feel like he needs to keep his guard up – just in case Jordan is alive since she could pose a threat to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Claire Grace (Hayley Erin).

Speaking of Claire, she’ll bump into Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Crimson Lights and grow closer to him.

Kyle will talk to Claire about how the Abbotts and Newmans are intertwined since he’s seen a lot of marriages, divorces and affairs over the years.

Although Kyle will wish Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) would come around on letting Claire be Harrison Abbott’s (Redding Munsell) nanny, Claire will urge him to cut Summer some slack under the circumstances.

After Harrison has another nightmare, Summer will text Kyle and ask if he can come home.

Kyle will rush right back to the Abbott mansion, where Harrison will express concern for Claire.

Harrison will want Claire to come over so she can feel safe, but he’ll end up getting distracted by cookies in the kitchen.

That’ll give Kyle a chance to bicker with Summer and argue that Claire should be given a trial nanny run.

Summer won’t get why Kyle is so invested in helping Claire, but Kyle will make it clear that this is about what’s best for Harrison.

Kyle won’t think it’ll go over well if they push Harrison to trust someone else right now, but Summer will still think they can find another nanny candidate.

When Harrison reappears, he’ll wonder if they can call Claire to check on her.

Kyle will pipe up that they can do better than that and will ask if Harrison would like for Claire to be his new nanny.

After Harrison cheers over the news, Summer will glare at Kyle for going against her wishes.

Back at the Newman ranch, Victor will visit Jordan’s cell and give her another bottle of vodka.

Jordan will grovel on her knees and push Victor to unleash her for whatever plan he has in mind, but he’ll yell for her to get up.

Victor will insist Jordan isn’t in control here and will eventually grab her through the bars when she mentions Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) name one too many times.

Once Victor pushes Jordan to keep Nikki’s name out of her mouth, he’ll head back upstairs and leave her in despair.

Afterward on Friday’s Y&R episode, Victor will make excuses for where he’s been and join Cole along with Nick.

Cole will pitch the idea of giving Claire riding lessons and will want Victor’s advice on a horse selection.

Victor will love Cole’s riding suggestion – and Claire will also be on board when she gets updates.

Once Victor invites Cole and Claire to stay for dinner, he’ll mention that Brussels sprouts are on the menu.

Claire will admit she’s never had them since Jordan hated Brussels sprouts with a passion.

After Claire says they made Jordan retch, Victor will suggest that’s “interesting” and will later take another trip down to Jordan’s cell.

Jordan will be horrified when Victor reveals a bowl of Brussels sprouts, so he’ll continue to taunt her by popping one in his mouth and spitting it in her cell.

Once Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) catches up with Summer at the GCAC, it’ll be Nick’s turn to spy her scheming on her laptop.

Phyllis will admit she quit her job at Chancellor-Winters and will hint about some revenge possibilities – like unleashing a virus and creating enough havoc to get Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) hired back with a raise.

Phyllis will think she can return to Chancellor-Winters as well, but Nick will explain how this will end with the cyber security team investigating Phyllis and putting her on the most-wanted list.

Once Phyllis decides against going after revenge, she’ll joke about needing a job as a professional pot-stirrer.

After Nick clinks glasses with Phyllis, he’ll compliment the color she’s wearing as they share a cute moment.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis can never stay out of trouble for very long, so we’ll bring you more predictions on any twists that might be brewing.
