It has been many, many years since we’ve seen veteran actor Ted King on General Hospital as Lorenzo. And while fans who may have followed his career likely watched when he made the jump from ABC over to CBS as Jack on The Bold and the Beautiful, could it be that he’s about to make yet another daytime comeback — and in a very big way?!
On May 13, former Bold & Beautiful and General Hospital writer Michele Val Jean took to X to share, “Today was a good day,” to which King replied, “Yes, it was!”
You may be asking yourself, “So? If she’s no longer with Bold & Beautiful, and she hasn’t returned to the writing team at General Hospital, then what’s the big deal?”
Well, back in March, we reported that Val Jean would be leading the pack as the headwriter for CBS’ new soap The Gates, and in April, it was revealed that the new show would be premiering in 2025. With The Talk ending its 15th and final season in December, there’s room for The Gates to jump into the daytime lineup, which means casting and stories should be in the works.

So you see, King’s reply could very well mean that he’ll be among the lucky ones to be a part of this much-anticipated new soap that will swirl surround a wealthy Black family living in an upscale gated community.
