At the cliff house, Steffy intones, “The woman who broke into this house, and looked exactly, and I mean exactly, like Sheila… that was someone else?” Finn says yes, it was Sugar. “You didn’t kill Sheila. Isn’t that a huge relief? That’s a huge weight lifted. You didn’t kill my birth mother at all.” Steffy wonders if he expects her to be thankful that this monster is alive. Finn asks, “Isn’t there a part of you that is thankful?” He goes on about Sugar wanting to hurt her to hurt Sheila. Steffy says a crazy woman is dead and she’s supposed to be grateful another crazy woman is alive? “The danger is back now.” Finn insists there is no danger. It’s the exact opposite. Even though Sheila was chained up, she tried to save her life.

At Deacon’s place, Sheila’s glad he talked her into going to the hospital. She got a much-needed check-up and got to scare the bejesus out of Li! Deacons shakes his head indulgently. Sheila giggles about the serendipity of Li walking down the hallway as she’s about to be examined. She couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give her the shock of her life. Deacon’s sure a lot of people will be shocked when they find out she’s still kicking.

They laugh as Sheila says it couldn’t have been more enjoyable scaring the bejesus out of Li. She was jealous because Finn wouldn’t let her die. “And they say I’m the wicked one.” Deacon thinks she needs to get used to people reacting that way when they see her. Sheila’s looking forward to it. “Especially the Forresters.” She muses, “Who do you think will be the most shocked? Ridge or Brooke? She can’t wait to walk into Eric Forrester’s home. “You know, Donna’s a screamer.” Deacon smirks, “No, not firsthand.” Sheila guffaws that she’ll put Li to shame. She thinks the hospital reveal was brilliant and wants to recreate it at Forrester. Deacon asks if ‘changed Sheila’ really wants to focus on shocking people. Sheila insists there’s nothing nefarious going on. Deacon asks if she recalls the nice quiet life before Sugar showed up. She should go back to that and focus on the two of them and their engagement. Sheila clucks, “You are no fun.” They canoodle.

At Forrester, Ridge and Liam question how Finn could think, with no evidence whatsoever, that Sheila is reformed. Hope insists he sees the growth. Liam argues that it’s not reality. Ridge grunts that animals like Sheila don’t change. Hope feels they should keep an open mind. “People did say the same thing about your son, Ridge.” Ridge warns her not to compare Thomas to Sheila. Hope says of course not, but people can change. Ridge realizes she’s siding with Finn and asks, “Where are you coming from?” Liam reminds her that her mother has been one of Sheila’s favorite targets over the years. Hope is well aware, she just thinks that Sheila may regret it.

Hope tells the men that Sheila did everything in her power to try and stop Sugar from going after Steffy, Kelly, and Hayes. Liam argues that he’s just taking her word for it. She’s not a saint all of a sudden. Hope insists Finn and Deacon believe she has changed for the better. Ridge says everything she does is for show. Finn needs to believe this and she’s given him all the ammunition he needs. Hope doesn’t expect them to embrace the idea but they should have an open mind knowing how important it is for Finn to have Sheila in his life. Ridge says it’s not going to happen. Hope sighs, “Why not?” She sees Finn’s side of this and questions if Sheila’s changed, why wouldn’t he want a relationship with her? “And by the way, that is what Finn wants. He is determined to have Sheila in his life.” Liam and Ridge exchange a look.

At the cliff house, Finn tells Steffy that if Sheila is still the monster she claims that she is, she wouldn’t have cared about Sugar going to kill her. Steffy shakes her head at his ignorance and informs him that if she’d died that night Sheila would have been blamed. Anything she did to fight off Sugar was selfish. It was a way for her to stay out of prison. Finn argues, “She loves us more than her own life.” He saw it in her eyes. “Can’t you see that my birth mother has changed? Offering her own life? That’s heroic. Sheila’s a hero!” Steffy stares at him in shock.

Steffy gasps, “A hero?! You’re calling Sheila Carter a hero?! That woman tried to kill us, Finn!!” Finn argues she tried to save her life, “When Sugar told her…” Steffy angrily adjusts the furniture. “Oh my God, I don’t care about Sugar. I don’t care about her. She means nothing to me. We’re talking about Sheila. Sheila.” She’s told him so many times how she’s terrorized her family. “For generations, Finn!” That woman is a lunatic. She tried to kill her, her mother, and her grandmother. She has kidnapped people, killed people, and poisoned people. “She is not a hero. And I never want to hear you say that again!”

At Deacon’s place, he rubs Sheila’s shoulders. She tells him how much she hoped to get back to this, “To you.” She teases him about her imaginary diamond ring. Deacon will do right by her and wants the entire world to know how in love with her he is. They make out.

At Forrester, Ridge and Liam insist to Hope that Steffy will never let Finn bring Sheila into their lives. Liam reminds her of all they’ve had to endure because of Finn’s ‘tie’ to his birth mother… and now he wants to extend an open invitation. “Well, Finn doesn’t get Steffy then, because mark my words, she’s going to draw a line in the sand with Finn once and for all.”

At the cliff house, Steffy asks, “Do you hear me, Finn? Sheila Carter is a vile human being. She is not a hero.” How could he even think that? She left him in an alley to die. Finn insists she tried to save Steffy and the kids. The fact that Steffy didn’t kill his birth mother matters to him. He takes Steffy’s hand, “I’m your husband. You’re the most important thing to me in this world, you and the kids. But my mother…” Steffy flinches, “Please don’t call her that.” Finn thought he’d lost his chance with his birth mother but now he has a second one. He’s sorry, but he wants to help her. Almost losing her made him realize that he didn’t want to turn his back on her. Steffy cries, “But you have to! God, I love you, Finn. You are such a good person, but your biological mother is evil, and you’re really naïve to think she’s going to change, that she won’t bring devastation to our lives. She’s not going to be in our lives, Finn. She’s not going to be anywhere near Kelly or Hayes. So, uh, you can’t have both. It’s either her… or me.” Finn tears up. “I hear you. Of course, it’s you, sweetheart. It will always be you.” They embrace.
