This is perhaps the best news we have heard all week! General Hospital Comings and Goings confirm that John J. York has officially returned to the sets! Thus, we will soon get to see Mac Scorpio return to the screen. Something that we have been waiting for a long time now. Isn’t that exciting?
For the unversed, back in 2023, John J. York announced that he was taking a hiatus from the ABC soap, recall General Hospital Comings and Goings. He later revealed that he was undergoing treatment for blood and bone marrow cancers. Despite the severity of his health issue, the GH vet assured his fans that he will recover and return soon.

Looks like the wonderful man has kept his promise! General Hospital officially announced his return to the soap with a “Mac Is Back” post on their social media. The official handles posted a couple of pictures of John York with his co-stars at the studio. General Hospital Comings and Goings point that even the t-shirt that he sported read “Mac Is Back”!
It appears that John is recovering well due to his treatment. Back in December, 2023, he had updates his fans that the doctors found a match for him and he was able to receive a life-saving blood stem cell transplant.

General Hospital Comings and Goings recall that the soap vet had assured his fans that he should be recovered and back by late spring or early summer. It appears that John is standing by his words! If he was at the studio to resume filming, then fans can see him return to the screen sometime in mid-June.
