In April, 2024, we brought to you the shocking news of Steve Kent’s sudden exit from Sony, where he was overseeing The Young and The Restless and Days of Our Lives, as the Senior Executive Vice President. This is a position that he had held since 2007.

However, his career with Sony, which started in 1986, has now come to an end. The latest reports confirm that he has been nixed of all duties at the company. Although, that does not mean that his connection with The Young and The Restless has come to a complete close.

Deadline reports that while Steve Kent no longer works with Sony, he will still continue to work with The Young and The Restless. Turns out, Steve has now snagged a new position as executive in charge of production at Y&R. Unfortunately, though it is a far cry from his previous position at Sony.

Previously, Steve was also overseeing other Sony projects such as – Outlander, Nikola, and As If. Yet, the silver lining here is that The Young and The Restless still gets to retain a senior exec who knows the ropes and understand the soap.

Steve Kent has a long history of working in the entertainment industry, even before becoming a part of Sony. He has even worked on the uber popular but now dumped NBC soap Santa Barbara as supervising producer for nine long years between 1984 to 1993.

But just as all good things come to an end, Steve Kent’s run with Sony too has ended. days of Our Lives will certainly feel some turbulence due to this chance in the background. However, The Young and The Restless has become spared of the shakeup!
