As the kidnapping scenario played out in the most recent episode of Young & Restless, the Newmans and Abbotts got a big break in the case when Kyle went down to the diner the truck driver mentioned and was able to identify, not only Jordan, but the vehicle she was driving after abandoning the delivery truck, on the joint’s security footage.

Presuming she’d ask Dave to meet near the place she was holed up with Harrison, Kyle and Victor’s team launched a search of the area in hopes that the vehicle she was driving would be spotted parked outside her lair. Happily, that was the case and Kyle happened upon the motel room after Jordan had left to meet Nikki — very fortuitous soapy timing. We’re not gonna bother questioning how Kyle could kick in the door, but he did, and was reunited with the son who had delighted us mere minutes before by calling Jordan a ‘witch’ and sending her peanut butter and jelly sandwich flying across the room.

Meanwhile, in what appeared to be another case of dumb luck, Jordan allowed herself to be lured into an alley to meet Nikki, who was gone by the time she arrived, only to be replaced by Victor. Since we didn’t see Nikki tell Victor about her plan, we have to assume that either he traced her location via her cellphone, or Victoria and Cole ratted her out. Regardless, Victor proved he’s ‘still got it’ by popping up behind the psychopath and giving her a taste of her own medicine — chloroform.

Yup, it looks like the ride is over for Jordan at long last, but if it seemed too easy, that might be because it was. The madwoman still has an ace up her sleeve.

If you think back to the scenes in the motel, you’ll realize that something very important was missing and unaccounted for — Claire! We haven’t seen hide nor hair of her since she was at the Abbott mansion. Given that it doesn’t make sense for her to have been her aunt’s accomplice, that means that at this point, she’s become her last bargaining chip.

While it’s a triumph to have found Harrison, the fact remians that Victoria, Cole, and the other Newmans are going to be frantic to locate Claire and bring her home. Even Summer might soften a bit if she realizes Claire wasn’t a part of the kidnapping plot and may be in grave danger herself.

We may find out Jordan has Claire stashed, unconscious, in the bathtub of the motel room, but chances are the crackpot pulled a Victor Newman, planned one step ahead and foresaw the possibility of being found, so she decided to keep her great niece elsewhere as now-much-needed insurance.

So, where is Claire? She could be in that musty dungeon. She could be almost anywhere that no one could hear her calling for help. We’re sure Jordan wouldn’t have killed her, as proof of life might be necessary to bargain her way out of the very kind of tight situation the madwoman has now found herself in.

What remains to be seen is whether the Newmans can locate Claire and bring her home safely without having to let Jordan go free as part of the deal.
