General Hospital Spoilers: Liz’s Romantic Reset – New Love Story in the Works?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans are noticing a big shift when it comes to Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) scenes lately. It could lead to a romantic reset for Liz somewhere down the line, so let’s talk about the changes and what they might mean.
For the longest time, it felt like Elizabeth was attached to Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) hip!
Instead of Liz having any kind of story of her own, Liz seemingly existed to be Finn’s cheerleader and make him seem like the greatest guy ever.
However, that’s changed under the new writing regime. Elizabeth now has a lot more independence and is doing things besides giving Finn pep talks.
It’s been nice to see Liz at work with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and facing off with John Cates (Adam Harrington) over Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) questions.
Elizabeth has also been playing referee with her boys at home and even had some advice for Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) at the courthouse.
Just having some variety for Liz has been amazing and could signal a turning point that shifts her away from Finn.
Of course, Elizabeth and Finn aren’t going to break up while Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) is fading so fast.
Finn will need Liz’s comfort as he copes with losing his father, so we’re not saying this is the end of the pairing just yet.
Nevertheless, the writers are making a noticeable effort to give Liz scenes outside of Finn’s orbit.
Liz feels like an actual person again with other things going on in her life, so she no longer exists solely to praise and support Finn.
That’s a good thing and may be a hint about Liz’s Finn-free days ahead. Finn could easily throw himself into his work after losing Gregory, so that could create some distance in his romance.
Although Liz will inevitably console Finn early on, the loss may change him and lead to their relationship changing, too.
Finn might start shutting Elizabeth out and eventually decide he’s just not boyfriend material anymore.
If the show is building to Elizabeth and Finn’s split, that could mean they have other romantic plans for her.
Liz’s relationship with Finn was arguably a flop, so it’d be great to see GH writers hit the reset button and find a better love story for her down the road.
