The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Katie Rejects Big Sister Claire – Victoria’s Double Daughter Dilemma?
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) has been getting a lot of love from her new family lately. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) have done everything they can to make Claire understand how much they want to be real parents to her.
It took some time, but Claire eventually came around to the idea of being worthy of love and acceptance.
Claire has even started calling Victoria “Mom,” so there’s been a ton of progress in their relationship.
Of course, Claire is building a solid bond with Cole – and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has warmed up to Claire as well since agreed to help with his plot against Jordan (Colleen Zenk).
Even Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has been quite welcoming to Claire, who’s making the Newman ranch her home and starting to feel like a true member of the Newman clan.
Claire is on cloud nine following her early release and all this family acceptance, so we’re waiting on the other shoe to drop!
There must be some sort of obstacle brewing for Claire that’ll make life a little more difficult again.
In Y&R’s March 1 episode, Claire talked to Victoria about her siblings and wondered if they would accept her.
Victoria seemed certain that her other children would indeed embrace Claire, but what if she’s wrong?
Reed Hellstrom (last played by Tristan Leabu) has been exposed to complicated family drama all his life, so he might be able to get on board with Claire joining the Newman clan.
The same goes for Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind), who’s used to complex family situations after finding out Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is his bio mom and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is his half-brother.
However, we want to focus on Katie Abbott (last played by Sienna Mercuri) and the drama that could come from her rejecting her new big sister.
That would crush Claire since the show’s established how much she loves kids.
They even showed Claire bonding with Nadia (Coco Nation) at the hospital recently, so Claire would love a chance to bond with Katie in the same way. It’ll be tough for Claire if Katie wants nothing to do with her.
What if Katie hears some confusing things in the media or through kids at school? Katie might accuse Claire of hurting Grandma Nikki and refuse to spend time with her at all.
Perhaps Katie could also be jealous of Victoria having another daughter. There’s a lot of material to play if Katie pushes back against the acceptance that Victoria’s been fighting so hard to give Claire.
