On the heels of Young & Restless revisiting the Cricket/Danny/Phyllis triangle from back in the day, the soap is set to resurrect yet another controversial love muddle from yesteryears… and even though it hasn’t even kicked off, fans are already taking sides!

The love triangle we’re speaking of is legendary in industry circles for having created some of the most volatile fan wars ever seen on message boards. Calling the mud-slinging a moderator’s nightmare wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Soap shippers are known for going hard for their preferred pairings, but these characters catapulted heated opinions to another level, surpassing even that of Bold & Beautiful’s Brooke/Ridge/Taylor wars.

If you haven’t already guessed, we’re talking about the fabled “Shick” vs. “Phick” battles of the nineties… and it looks like Young & Restless is set to take us back down that turbulent tunnel ‘o’ love again.

Young & Restless spoilers indicate that Nick will look out for Phyllis on the same day Sharon spends reminiscing. With Sharon also putting in a distress call (undoubtedly to her ex-husband) by week’s end, it’s not hard to see that Nick is about to be pulled in different directions and torn between two women all over again.

Phyllis just tried her luck, and lost, in a rematch with Christine over resident rock star Danny Romalotti… will she fare better in a repeat rumble with Sharon?

Soaps.com asked Young & Restless fans on Facebook which of Nick’s exes they’d like to see him get back together with, and the results, predictably, were mostly split down the middle between Sharon and Phyllis, with perhaps a slight edge going to the blonde.

That said, about a third of the fans were ready to opt out entirely. Mary PizzAzz Crooks replied, “Neither. Been there, done it so many times. They all need to move on,” while Brenda Gilland agreed, “Neither…He needs a new woman.”
