General Hospital May Have Just Tipped Us Off That the Big Return They Teased Is [Spoiler]

Ever since executive producer Frank Valentini dropped the tease that someone big was making his return to General Hospital, we’ve been racking our brains to figure out who it could be. We had a few ideas, though our big guess centered around Bryan Craig, who’s been running with the tease and adding to speculation.

But now General Hospital has us thinking it’s someone else entirely!

It all started with Mac’s return from… wherever he’d been as John J. York went back to work for the first time since taking a break to battle cancer. He got very cagey when Maxie asked where he’d been, but all he’d say was he was “helping a friend” in South America.

That friend, we learned the next day when Mac caught up with Felicia (you can read the recap here), was none other than Frisco Jones — which makes us a bit more understanding about why he didn’t want to tell Maxie what he’d been up to!

But he shared how he and Frisco talked a number of things out, with the latter being pretty darn candid about how he abandoned his family. He even thanked Mac for raising his daughters and being there for Felicia.

It was a touching acknowledgement of Frisco’s shortcomings, while reminding us of how incredible Mac has been over the years. But at the same time, it left a whole lot open — like what was going on that Mac had to spend the better part of a year out of town with Frisco.

Maybe this, then, is just a prelude to Frisco’s return to find out what kept Mac away for as long as he was, make peace with his family now that he seems to have learned the error of his ways… and even help Anna take down Pikeman! It would all fall right into place, and Jack Wagner would have time right now as When Calls the Heart is in between shooting seasons.
