General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton Hints At Jason's Startling Future Storyline

General Hospital spoilers tease that last week was a good one everyone who loves the show. During the Emmy Awards, General Hospital won the Emmy for Best Soap!

That means the stars and production team did several interviews with various news outlets. Steve Burton had a lot to say about his role of Jason Morgan.

As viewers know, Burton was fired in 2021 after he refused to comply with a vaccination mandate imposed by ABC and Disney.

After he was let go, Burton eventually moved on to Days of Our Lives, playing the role of Harris Michaels. Since Days films 6 months ahead, Burton is actually still airing on Days of Our Lives for a little while longer.

But to his fans delight, Burton announced in January that he would be returning to General Hospital. Burton first started airing during the first week of March. But Jason was quite different than fans had remembered him.

GH Spoilers – Jason Morgan was forced to work for the FBI

Jason was presumed dead when he disappeared in late 2021. When he returned in March, it was revealed that he had been taken by the FBI and forced to work for them as an informant.

If Jason didn’t do what Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington) wanted, then Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) would go to prison for 20 years for RICOH violations.

Although Jason’s cover was blown, Cates insisted that Jason continue to work for him until the Pikeman Group was taken down. We’ve also recently learned that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been a part of Pikeman all along.

General Hospital Spoilers – Steve Burton teased Jason Morgan’s future.

When asked what the future holds for Jason, Burton indicated that the FBI story would soon be reaching a conclusion. What that means for Pikeman, and more specifically Valentin and Agent Cates, remains to be seen.

Burton also said that he wanted Jason to go back to work for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) and out of the coffee warehouse. While some fans may see that as a step backward for the character, it is the Jason that viewers have come to know and love.
