General Hospital: Cynthia Watros Spills Behind-the-Scenes Secrets, Drew Text Shocker
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has accepted her divorce from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but that doesn’t mean the loss isn’t painful! Likewise, Cynthia Watros is facing a loss of her own since she misses working with Maurice Benard and Maura West (Ava Jerome) on a regular basis.
Watros still gets some scenes with West and Benard occasionally, but now they’re working together far more than they’re working with her.
That’s something that’s apparently caused a hint of jealousy for Watros, who opened up about how the story changes have affected her life on set in an interview with First for Women.
“I’m mourning not being able to see my friends anymore,” Watros confessed. “Even though it’s just words on a page and you’re playing a character, I miss working with them. When I see Maurice and Maura on a totally different set, I’m like, ‘I wonder what they’re doing over there?’”
However, Watros has a brand-new hookup partner now that Nina’s been getting busy with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) behind closed doors.
When GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini first texted Watros to say she had a love scene coming up, her first guess was that Sonny and Nina were reuniting.
Watros decided to text back and ask who Nina would be sizzling with, so she was surprised when Valentini told her it’d be with Drew.
Although Watros wasn’t sure how to make sense of that initially, she gained some clarity once they were actually on set filming Nina and Drew’s first passionate surrender.
That’s when Watros saw the vision and understood how it would all come together.
Watros couldn’t make a prediction about what the future holds for Drew and Nina, but she loves the uniqueness of their romance since Nina’s never had one quite like this until now.
Watros suggested that Nina and Drew are “very raw with each other,” so she seems eager to see where this leads.
