Sometimes love crops up in the most unexpected of places… and other times, after it hits, we look back and say, “Yeah, we could see that!” And that’s kind of how we feel about the news that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly (Cody) and Chloe Lanier (ex-Nelle) are dating!
The happy couple broke the news to fans at Coastal Entertainment’s Men of General Hospital event this past week, Soaps In Depth reports, when Lanier surprised fans by showing up dressed as her beau! Confusing? Not after they told everyone who was in attendance that they were together!
Though the pair didn’t get into how they met, it wasn’t necessarily from working together on General Hospital. (Unlike the Port Charles couples in our gallery here who did meet onset.) Kelly joined the sudser in 2022 as Mac’s son (though we didn’t know that detail at the time). Nelle was gone by then after plunging to her supposed death back in 2020. (Yes, we know she’s still dead, but you know how it goes when there’s a cliff and people plummeting out of sight. They have a history of resurfacing alive)
Nelle did make a ghostly dream appearance back in 2022 to haunt Nina and Willow for an episode when Kelly was with the show, but the two didn’t work together at all for those scenes. With that said, we wouldn’t be surprised if they had met through the extended General Hospital family — or even the extended soap family!
Kelly got his start, after all, back on One Life to Live playing not-so-terrible conman Cutter Wentworth, and there’s been plenty of overlap between the defunct ABC sudser and General Hospital! Plus, he and Lanier have both done their share of soapy primetime appearances on shows like Station 19.
Regardless of how they met, though, we couldn’t be happier for the couple and wish them all the best — and we’re sure the fans feel the same!
