As Young & Restless’ Brytni Sarpy Unveils a New Look, Questions Arise About Her Status as Elena

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Brytni Sarpy’s Elena on The Young and the Restless. While she’s still, as far as we know, kicking around the hospital — she did save Chance’s life when he was shot — Elena’s mostly been MIA since her breakup with Nate. Actually, that’s too kind. Since she dumped Nate like a bad habit for canoodling with Victoria.

If there’s one thing Genoa City can always use, though, it’s doctors, so it would be a crying shame to actually lose her! That city is not a safe place to live.

But while we recently had an idea for a steamy new romance for her (which you can check out here), so far, she hasn’t had much luck in the love department. The next time we see her, though, she may be looking a bit different!

And hey, that might be the perfect thing for her. She could have a new look for a new beginning and finally get back to some front burner story.

Sarpy recently hopped on Instagram to share a pic showing off her “New cut, new color,” to quite a bit of acclaim. Young & Restless co-stars like Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Greg Rikaart (Kevin) and Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) let her know how gorgeous she looked. And her General Hospital co-star Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) just had one word: “Gorge!”

Along with that were quite a few folks letting her know how much she’s been missed on Young & Restless and asking when she’d be coming back! And that’s a pretty darn good question…

We did some digging and according to show sources, she is, as happens to characters from time to time, just on the backburner for now. There’s no word on when she might pop up again, but hopefully, we don’t have to wait until the next time someone is shot!

Though if we ever get that big disaster like some folks suggested when we asked about ideas for Young & Restless now that it’s been renewed for four years, that might be the perfect tale to get Elena front and center saving Genoa City lives.
