Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers note that the land of Salem can be a revolving door at times. While fans can fall in love with an actor or actress behind a popular character, if and when they leave a show, a recast is the best way to allow a storyline to continue and breathe new life into a role.

Soap Opera Digest (SOD) recently caught up with some DOOL stars, as they asked to offer advice to those stepping into a recast role.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Dan Feuerriegel’s Thoughts On Being Recast Into The EJ DiMera Role

Days spoilers note that actor Dan Feuerriegel jumped into the EJ DiMera role in 2021, replacing fan favorite, James Scott.

When asked about advice he’d give potential actors stepping into an already-established role, Dan notes, “Do your own thing. Obviously, they will try and mold you so there is a sense of the previous character or previous portrayal, and it’s not that much of a shock (to the audience). But, be your own person, be your own actor, because that is what you are.”

He adds, “I will never be James Scott. He is a completely different person with completely different life experiences. He played EJ the way that he did. I’m going to play it the way I do.”

Days Spoilers – Leo Howard Offers His Perspective

The SORASed version of Tate Black was introduced to DOOL audiences in 2023 when Jamie Martin Mann entered the canvas; however, he exited mere months later, and actor Leo Howard was recast in the role.

While fans did enjoy watching Mann, Howard has truly hit the ground running, and viewers are enjoying the “Romeo and Juliet” love story between him and Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis). What kind of advice did Howard have?

He tells SOD, “Portray your version of the character. You were hired for a reason and for your take on the character. So, present your most honest version.”
